Honoring Legacy and Service in the Diocese
Fr. Thomas Price Heritage Society Gathers for Mass with Bishop Zarama, Honoring Legacy and Service in the Diocese
On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, The Foundation welcomed guests of the Fr. Thomas Price Heritage Society to the Catholic Center for Mass and Breakfast. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Luis R. Zarama who reminded guests it is our duty to love and serve others.
During Breakfast, Very Reverend Fr. Michael J. Burbeck, V.G. spoke of the legacy in our Diocese of the many men and women who came before us and have gifted what we know in our Diocese today. Interestingly, he shared the sometimes-untold story of St. Katherine Drexel who was called to found the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament serving Black and Indigenous Americans. St. Katharine’s legacy, which supported the establishment of many parishes throughout North Carolina, mirrors the impact our Fr. Price Society members have made through their own legacy gifts.
If you have made provisions in your will or estate plans for any Diocesan Parish, School or Ministry, please let us know so we can continue to include you in our programming for the legacy society.
