John W. Byrne
John and his wife, Patti, are founding members of St. Bernadette Parish, Fuquay-Varina. John has been the Mayor of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina since 2001. As Mayor, John has led the effort toward seeing the town grow significantly, being recognized as one of the fastest growing towns in the State of North Carolina with a growth rate in population of nearly 70% since 2010. In his capacity as Mayor, John serves as a director on the PNC Centennial Authority and as a member of the Executive Board for the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization. John is also a member of the Fuquay-Varina Lions Club, Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce, St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the North Carolina Bed and Breakfast and Inn Association.
