In August 2023, Bishop Zarama announced a new initiative to build a comprehensive diocesan development structure that will coordinate the work of the Foundation, Bishop’s Annual Appeal, and major gift fundraising under the leadership of a Chief Development Officer. Since that time, a process has been underway to identify the right candidate for the new role and structure the new office, while safeguarding existing development efforts.

In January of this year, the Diocese of Raleigh engaged Lindauer to conduct the search for the Chief Development Officer. That search is well underway and has generated high levels of interest and a pool of talented candidates. The search committee is conducting interviews and will present final candidates to Bishop Zarama for his decision.

Throughout this transition, the mission of the Foundation remains unchanged: partnering with you for a better future for the Diocese of Raleigh. The Foundation retains its status as a separate corporation, independently audited, and committed to faithfully stewarding the assets in its care according to your intentions as our donors and the guidelines that govern the various endowments and donor designated funds.

Once the right candidate is hired, we look forward to sharing further information about how this new structure and leadership will benefit the work of the Foundation.
